I wrote a review on the insufficient brother model A480 - a decent camera (if used with ample lighting). If you check out the specs fastidiously, there's extremely nothing to differentiate this camera (A490) from the A480 to a novice or beginner.

Pros
o really a fit-in-the-pocket camera
o AA batteries and sensible battery life
o sensible photos in good lighting

Cons
o Build quality not nice. *VERY* lightweight and low cost plastic. Cameras from simply two years ago place this to shame.
